This is Shobita, the bride. I was fortunate to attend this traditional wedding in New Delhi. The beauty and intimacy of this opportunity is reflected in her face. My family and I were welcomed into the homes of the families of the bride and groom to celebrate this occasion. The ceremonies were filled with fun and dancing, ritual, and a sharing of the heart. The bride’s hands and feet were skillfully painted with henna the evening before the wedding.
