LOOKING
HOMEWARD
(U.S.A.)
Oil on Canvas - 32"
x 40"
| These
women are of the Haida Tribe. It was as these women were walking
away from me that the power of their robes caught my attention.
These robes are worn at potlatches, ceremonial dances, weddings,
graduations, powwows, etc. They are appliqued and decorated with
buttons and sometimes shells. The images are in the Northwest
Native American tradition. |
