This gentleman is Johnny Adams, the uncle of Dennis Butterfly. He is of the Yakima Tribe and was a saddle bronc rider. The American flag is a common theme among the Native Americans. Johnny is a Traditional Dancer and his bustle hangs on the back of his chair. His headdress is commonly called a roach which is made of animal hair. Frequently, the two feathers is symbolic of an animal. With all the dancing, music, and activities around him, it was his introspective profile that caught my eye.
