Along the road to Bacoor in the Philippines, I passed through a small village and a house with two figures on the porch, a little girl and her grandmother. There was a positive, open attitude in the face of the little girl, who was enthusiastic, smiling, and appeared ready to come forward. This was in contrast to the grandmother, who appeared concerned and possibly suspicious of the intrusion.
